Well.....I have finally decided after being on a Sabbatical for the last two years to kick my arse into some sort of Human shape. As i write this i am about to complete my first week of insanity, Shaun T's exercise program for the over thirties (not strictly true) when it comes to that time in your life when you realise your getting older and uglier, nothing you can do about that! However you can control  Man Fat, Man Breasts and give yourself a fighting chance of feeling good!

So I kicked off on the 5th August, I'm a sailor working in the offshore Oil and Gas industry on board MV Nordic Explorer. Prior to this I smoked 20 a day, ate crap and drank when i had the chance. I am an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and recently rode my BMW S1000RR race bike at the Silverstone Circuit during a super-bike course. It was then i realized just how unfit i had become. Knackered, Sweating like crazy and incapable of moving the next day!! Literally......

So i thought thats it.......lets sort this shit out!!!

I quit smoking on 24th July (not smoked since)
I ditched all the crap food
And decided to go down the Insanity Workout Route.............

Now let me say this, I'm British so straight away it makes my cynical. I usually see all this bollocks on American TV claiming 7 minute Abs...yada yada yada and always think its a load of shit. And I thought the same about insanity, How wrong I was!!!!!

So after some encouragement i started Insanity:

For those of you who don't know, Shaun T is an American fitness Guru, very well qualified (I Wikipedia'd him) and very energetic. Very likeable and encourages you along in a way that makes you feel your in the room!?

So first off here is my Stats as of Monday 5th August:

Height 191cm or 6ft 3
Weight 106.4KG or 234 Lb's
Waist Size (measured just above the belly button NOT where the trousers sit) 42"
BMI 29.4 (puts me in the overweight category)

I would like to add however, i do have a large frame, quite broad, and i lifted weights up until a back injury 12 months ago.

So........My Mondays Fitness Results were as follows:

Switch Kicks: 93
Power Jacks: 54
Power Knees: 68
Power Jumps: 23
Globe Jumps: 6
Suicide Jumps: 11
Push up Jacks: 20
Low Plank Oblique: 34

I have decided to weigh myself and take my measurements every two weeks so i can log my progress. So far this week i have enjoyed the workouts, there tough, but so worthwhile.....the workouts remind me of the kind of circuits i used to do when i was in the military. As i write this im just about to do the Plyometric Cardio Circuit as its saturday (final day of the first week)
How do i feel??? In a word "fantastic" Much more alert, nowhere near as tired as i used to be and generally healthier. I know i have lost body fat but im not doing measurements yet. My whole body is feeling more toned and my legs feel more powerful. Remarkable really.

Right well im off to do my circuit......Ill be back :-)
